Salsa Classes in Charlottesville

May 4, 2007 - Dec 31, 2007 8pm - 11pm

Downtown Mall 109 2nd St. SE On the second floor Above Atomic Burrito
ATTENTION!! The Nightclub Salsa classes have been moved to a later time on FRIDAYS.

Starting Friday, May 4th, and every Friday after, Edwin and Amberlyn will be offering two half hour group classes in Charlottesville. These classes will focus on Nightclub Style Salsa and are modeled after the classes offered in Richmond. Everyone is invited.

The beginner/intermediate Nightclub Salsa class will take place from 8 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. And immediately following this class will be an intermediate/advance Nightclub Salsa class, which will commence at 8:30 p.m. and conclude at 9 p.m. These classes will be held at their studio, Zabor Dance, which is located on the Downtown Mall at 109 2nd St. SE, on the second floor (above Atomic Burrito).

Each of these classes is $6 per person at the door, or for your convenience you can purchase a class card for only $20, which pays for any 4 of these classes and can be used for the Argentine Tango classes that are held on Thursdays. This class card has no expiration date.

Also for those people who are interested in practicing what they’ve learned or just for those who would like to become more efficient dancers in social settings, Edwin and Amberlyn will be offering an Open Dance Practica every Friday right after the Nightclub Salsa classes. The Practica will be held from 9-11 p.m. at Zabor Dance. The participants of the classes are welcome to stay for the Practica for free. However, if you don’t take the classes, but would like to come to the Practica, the cost will be $3 per person at the door.

For these classes and the Open Dance Practica, it is required that the participants either wear ballroom, jazz, character, tango, or ballet shoes, or bring a pair of old socks that can be worn over your normal shoes. Please do not wear street shoes, sneakers or slip-on sandals for they will not be allowed on the dance floor (even if they have never been used before). If you wear shoes that do not fit the requirements, we will ask you to take your shoes off.

In order for us to provide better service to you, we strongly suggest that you arrive at least five minutes prior to your class to give yourself enough time to sign-up and prepare. In previous classes we have experienced a large number of participants. So, to avoid confusion, you MUST sign-up before taking the class.
