Glam Squad comes to Charlottesville for Cancer Survivor Make Over & Photo Shoot

Studio of Cville Performing Arts in the Glass Building at 313 2nd Street SE
On Sunday July 15, 2012, six women who have fought cancer or are still fighting cancer will be given the chance to have a professional makeover followed by a photo shoot. They will also get to hear from experienced models, hair and makeup artists, fashion stylists and life coaches on the latest trends, fashion tips and ways to boost confidence and self-esteem.

Rivanna River Cleanup

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS!
The Rivanna River Needs Your Help. Come join the fun and care for the River at the same time by joining us for the Annual Rivanna River Cleanup. This is a FAMILY EVENT and all ages are invited to Help Clean the Rivanna.
Date: This Saturday October 8, 2011 from 10:00a.m.to 1:00p.m.
(Except for paddlers in Palmyra as this cleanup may extend into the afternoon.
Cleanup Sites along the Rivanna River include:
Palmyra -
Meet at the DGIF Boat Ramp at the on Rt. 53 (just behind the Two J’s BBQ Restaurant at the intersection of Rt. 15 and Rt. 53. If you want to do a paddle cleanup, please bring your own boat. Otherwise teams will do a streambank cleanup. Angus Murdoch will lead - (434) 589-9281 Cell: (434) 882-1797.
Reas Ford Bridge –
Meet at the Reas Ford Road (State Route 660). Meet at the pull off by the bridge. Leader: TBD.

FROM I-64: Take Route 20 North to Monticello Avenue to right on Avon Street to right on Market Street to left on Riverside Avenue to Riverview Park. - FROM 250 BYPASS: Take East High Street to left on Meade Avenue to left on East Market Street to left on Riverside Avenue to Riverview Park - FROM VISITORS CENTER: Take Market Street from the downtown mall east towards the river.
