Cavaliers Earn Key Road Victory at NC State
The women held off the Wolfpack Sunday for their fifth ACC victory of the season.

The Virginia women's basketball team earned a key road victory Sunday with a 55-47 win at NC State. The Cavaliers went on a 22-6 run in the second half to take a lead they would never lose. Ataira Franklin scored a game-high 20 points to lead the way. Ariana Moorer added 11 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the winning effort.
The Cavaliers improve to 5-6 in conference play, 17-8 overall. NC State falls to 14-10, 4-7 in the ACC.
Virginia led 22-21 at halftime Sunday before opening the second half on a 4-0 run. The Wolfpack took their first lead of the game with 15:36 remaining. Trailing 26-27, Virginia answered with a 22-6 scoring frenzy that lasted 9 minutes, giving the Cavaliers a 48-33 lead with 5:57 to play.
UVa returns to action in one week when they host Clemson on Sunday February 12 at 2 p.m.
