No. 16 Virginia saw a three-game winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon after a road loss to No. 21 Florida State. The 58-55 victory was the Seminoles (16-6, 7-1) seventh straight as they earn a share of first place in the ACC standings.

The Cavaliers (18-4, 5-3) trailed by as many as 13 points in the second half and took their first lead of the half at the 4:41 mark. Jontel Evans picked off the Seminoles' pass and scored on a fast break to make it 45-44. Florida State rattled off six straight points to answer and would never trail again. Virginia cut the deficit to three twice in the final minute, including a Malcolm Brodgon three-pointer with :02 to play. A desperation half-court shot was no good at the final buzzer.

Mike Scott and Joe Harris each scored 16 points in the loss. The Cavaliers return home Wednesday and will host Wake Forest at 7 p.m.
