Multiple church congregations came together on Sunday to honor University of Virginia head football coach Mike London.
Dozens packed into the Fellowship Hall at the Mount Zion First African Baptist Church for the event. Some called London an inspiration to the community and thanked him for his work at UVa. and in Charlottesville.
Event Organizer, Xavier Jackson said, "We took time to pause and honor and recognize Coach Mike London for the wonderful successes that he's had in such a very short period of time."
Coach London added, "I'm very humbled. It's a blessing to among the community of pastors, particularly here at Mount Zion with Pastor Edwards, and to be honored or recognized for something I take no credit for."
Coach London introduced his family at the event and then talked about some of his football experiences over the years.

Pastor X. Jackson of Chapman Grove Baptist Church continues to do the will of God and put others before himself. He organized a beautiful event to recognize Mr. Mike London.
The way this article starts out, I thought Coach London had passed away! I feel like the introduction should be worded more carefully; for example, stating "U.Va.'s 'current' football coach...".
Rev. Dr. Alvin Edwards, pastor of Mount Zion First African Baptist Church, has always been a person who builds a spirt of community and this is another example of his good works.
