Another national award has listed Virginia forward Mike Scott among the top players in college basketball at the season's mid-point.
On Monday, it was the Oscar Robertson Trophy releasing its midseason watch list, and including the fifth-year UVa senior among the contenders. The award is presented by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association to the top player in the country.
Scott was one of four players from the ACC among the 20 on the list. A trio of Tar Heels -- forwards Harrison Barnes and John Henson, and center Tyler Zeller -- were the other three.
Scott is currently fourth in the conference in scoring (17.0 ppg), sixth in rebounding (8.5 rpg), and first in shooting percentage (58.8 percent). He's been named ACC player of the week three times this season.
The Oscar Robertson Trophy is the latest national award to include Scott among its midseason list of contenders. Last month, he was named to the midseason Top 25 for the Wooden Award, also given to the national player of the year.
