Authorities are searching for a Middle River Regional Jail inmate who escaped while on a work release program.

Capt. R.B. Moubray with the jail tells the Staunton News Leader that 25-year-old Jordan K. Duncan failed to report for work Wednesday at a fast-food restaurant in Harrisonburg.

Moubray says it's the fifth such escape since last September. The other inmates were captured and now face escape charges.

Duncan was in custody at the jail on charges of arson and contempt of court. Moubray says he was scheduled to be released in 2013.
