After carefully monitoring the Rapidan River, the Town of Orange announced Wednesday afternoon that it has decided to lift the mandatory water restrictions.
The recent rain events have brought the water level in the Rapidan River up significantly. However, the rain has not been enough to break the drought.
Ground water supplies are still well below normal and drought conditions still exist though out the area. Therefore, the Town of Orange will continue to monitor the river closely.
