Winter Weather Advisory: Use Caution On Roads

February 12, 2008

A winter weather advisory has been issued and will be in effect until 7 a.m. Wednesday. Weather has already caused several minor traffic incidents on area roads that are starting to freeze over.

Several rounds of precipitation are expected to move from southeast to northeast across the area tonight. underneath the precipitation...the ground and the air just above it is still below freezing. this combination will produce light icing which will likely cause travel problems this evening and overnight.

Temperatures will gradually be warming late this evening and overnight. as warmer air gradually works its way north, freezing rain will change to rain.

A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet and
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities. use caution while driving.
