Rain could put a damper on the third annual Chocolate Chase planned for this weekend. The Chocolate Chase is a 5K and chocolate festival put on by the First United Methodist Church in Charlottesville.
Co-director, Skip Mullaney, says 300 people are set to run the race, rain or shine. He says the lack of sun is not going to stop them this weekend. As for the actual festival, some booths will be moved inside the church. Others will be put under a large tent in Lee Park.
"We prefer it didn't rain," said Mullaney. "But, we are going to go rain or shine. People come and run or walk no matter what the weather."
Another event happening this weekend that will have to work with the weather is the Boy Scouts' Apple Harvest Camporee. All those events will be outdoors. Organizers are meeting Thursday to figure out what they're going to do.
