SALEM, Va. (AP) - The year is ending on a snowy note for
southwest Virginia.
The Virginia Department of Transportation reports snow and ice
are making for some rough New Year's Eve driving.
Crews began plowing late Wednesday and into Thursday to clear
primary roads.
The department said many secondary roads remain treacherous in
the counties of Botetourt (BAHT'-uh-tott), Carroll, Craig, Floyd,
Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and Roanoke.
