Tractor Trailers Stall, Cause Interstate 81 to Close

February 6, 2010

Numerous disabled tractor trailers have caused Interstate 81 to be closed from mile marker 230 to mile marker 237.

Crews are on the interstate are trying to get the 18-wheelers removed from the road one by one. The slight grade of the road near Weyers Cave is making it difficult for the tractor trailers to continue moving along the interstate.

The Virginia Department of Transportation is advising everyone to stay off the roads because of severe conditions even on the interstates.
