The snow has been bad for car wash businesses, but now that the weather is breaking for the better, car washes are cleaning up.
Workers at All American Car Wash off Route 250 in Charlottesville said there's been a steady stream of cars all day to wash all that road grime off.
The road chemicals are necessary for safe travel when it snows, but some say it can damage your car's finish.
"Just getting off of work, heading home, I figure I'd rinse it off," customer James Thacker said. "Get some of this road salt off of it. Try to make it last a bit longer and show off a little bit prettier."
Experts say it's best to wash your car right after a snowstorm. They recommend you wash your car every 10 days in the winter months, but they warn to only get it washed if it's at least 40 degrees.
