Charlottesville Police have begun issuing citations to local businesses that haven't shoveled their sidewalks.
Police warned the public that sidewalks not shoveled within 12 hours after the snowstorm could first face a warning, and then a citation.
The McDonald's restaurant at Ridge/McIntire is one business that received a citation after failing to clear the sidewalks around the business.
That's also the case for a number of other local businesses and residents in Charlottesville.
The Wendy's restaurant next to McDonald's at Ridge/McIntire also received a citation, as did the Yellow Cab on Sixth Street Southeast.
Homeowners in the 700 block of Monticello Avenue and the 1700 block of Jefferson Park Avenue were also written up for allegedly violating city code by failing to clean up their sidewalks in a timely manner.
Police had been issuing warnings up until this point. Altogether, three businesses and two homeowners received citations. The actual fine for the citations will be up to the court when the business and homeowners go before a judge.
