Dominion Virginia Power Ready for Atlantic Hurricane Season

June 2, 2010

Dominion Virginia Power says it's ready for the 2010 hurricane season.

The utility company says it has been working closely with local, state and federal emergency response organizations to prepare for hurricane season.

Dominion also is providing storm training for key responders, conducting emergency response drills and strengthening its service restoration processes.

Weather forecasters at the company's Richmond office are constantly monitoring all approaching weather systems to help Dominion to prepare for potential problems before the weather strikes.

Dominion is urging customers to pay attention to weather reports and prepare for possible outages if severe weather is expected.
