Unsettled weather put a snag in the way residents typically celebrate the start of the annual Madison County fair.
Tuesday evening, the annual fireman’s parade stepped off without a hitch, but due to weather concerns, organizers did not open the carnival.
People were allowed on fair grounds to look around at what the rest of the week has to offer.
While the chance for rain remains in the forecast, organizers hope people will still come for activities like the pie eating contest, horseshoes pitching, donkey racing and camel rides.
Friday is donation night, and proceeds benefit the Madison County Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
