Dominion Virginia Power is encouraging its customers to prepare their homes for the winter months.
The state's largest electric utility says winterizing a home will help increase energy efficiency and comfort.
Dominion says some of the important steps to prepare a home for winter include replacing or cleaning air filters, having heating systems inspected, check ductwork, and seal windows and doors with weather stripping or caulk.
Richmond-based Dominion has about 2.3 million customers in Virginia.

And don't forget to stock up on power outage supplies - flashlights, batteries, blankets, etc. No telling when you'll lose power with them. Hearing about all of Dominion's random outages makes me glad I'm with CVEC! Never lost power during all those snow storms.
