Strong storms dumping heavy rain swept through Central Virginia Monday night and Tuesday morning, leaving standing water and flooding concerns behind.
According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), several secondary roads in Central Virginia are impassable due to flooding. The following roads remain flooded Wednesday afternoon:
Albemarle County
- Route 689 (Burchs Creek Road)
Greene County
- Route 634 (Spotswood Trail)
- Route 637 (Octonia Road)
- Route 642 (S. River Road)
Louisa County
- Route 636 (Valentine Mill Road)
- Route 646 (Yanceyville Road)
- Route 651 (Cales Drive)
Madison County
- Route 607 (Repton Mill Road)
Orange County
- Route 602 (Old Office Road)
- Route 611 (Raccoon Ford Road)
- Route 636 (River Road)
- Route 666 (Hawfield Road)
- Route 751 (Melton Road)
Approximately 3.4" of rain has fallen at the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport in the past 48 hours. As the rain continues to fall the threat of flash flooding will persist Wednesday.
