The National Weather Service confirms a tornado hit southwest Virginia last week.
The weather service says the tornado was an EF1 with winds between 86 and 110 mph. It struck the Ewing area of Lee County on Friday.
One home was destroyed and six others were damaged. No one was injured.
It was the only known tornado to strike the state during the outbreak that saw reports of 128 tornadoes in 11 states.
