On Thursday, November 20th, I went to Stony Point Elementary to visit with all of the 4th graders. We started out by heading outside to the weather station to check the temperature, air pressure, wind speed, humidity, and wind direction. After getting our measurements, we went indoors (where it was a little bit warmer) and talked about what a meteorologist does from day to day. We discussed the various types of wintry precipitation and how they differ from one another. We also talked quite a bit about tornadoes and where they form. We even talked about the largest hail stone on record! We all had a great time and took a big group picture that aired on CBS19 News at 5 that same day!
